Jacq Babcock,
MFT Intern

I believe that therapy begins with wanting change. Something needs to be different, but we haven’t figured out how to create that difference in our lives. As a therapist, my role is to listen deeply to your stories and experiences so that I can gain an empathic understanding of your worldview. As my understanding of your needs and desired change becomes clear, then I can join you in your journey and help you to create the life experiences you are searching for. The courage it takes to utilize this path has my utmost respect.

I work with individuals, couples, and families and am passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ population. I offer a holistic approach to healing which includes taking into consideration the mind-body-soul connection. I am obtaining my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northern Illinois University. Before attending NIU, I spent 7 consecutive years studying closely with a medicine woman who is a spiritual teacher, mentor, and healer and uses various cross-cultural practices including shamanism. My therapeutic approach includes utilizing academic, research-based knowledge and spiritual wisdom to provide a holistic, tailor-made, toolkit for your journey. Whether or not you identify with spiritual principles, this approach includes using language that resonates with and affirms your beliefs.

Specialties: LGBTQIA+ populations, holistic approach, families, couples, & diverse relationship constellations

Treatment Philosophy: “One of the deepest longings of the human soul is to be seen.” – John O’Donohue
